University mergence is a profound administrative management structural reform in 21 century, and it is also an important characteristic of Chinese higher education in the recent ten years. Because of the mergence, many universities obtain unprecedented development opportunities and important achievements, as well as the mergence may cause many new contradictions and problems. Since each school of the merged one has individual and unique organization culture, conflicts exist in every part of organization culture of the merged university. Neutralizing the conflicts and integrating organization culture effectively is the issue that the merged universities have to give careful consideration in long term.This research selects a local merged collage as study object, regarding the organizational culture conflicts brought out by the mergence as the breakthrough point. Through case analysis, real investigation and qualitative research, the study is conducted by correlated theories on organizational culture, focuses on description and explanation about different levels of organizational culture conflicts which colleges faces after mergence during construction and development. Based on this ,clearing up and summing up effective ways about integrating organizational cultures and resolving organizational conflicts.This theory is divided into five chapters:The chapter I introduces the selected topic's background and significance, the literature summaries, the related concept definition, research thread and approach, and etc.The chapter II is theoretical analysis. It analyzes the organizational culture theory, the basic structure & function of college organizational culture, and the specialty of merged college's culture. It probes into the general theory, reasons, management of conflicts, in add to college organizational culture conflicts and it's major performance. Further more, it analyzes the Resource Dependence Theory, the strategy of different colleges acquire, the organizational culture conflicts which resulted from it.The chapter III is case study. Being based on the description and analysis of the case school's mergence agents, process and characteristics, this chapter penetrates into the former and the later of case school's cultural characteristics and conditions. The chapter IV, conducts the real diagnosis research of organizational culture conflicts after case school's mergence and how to integrate. It presents the case school organizational culture conflicts, and proposes effective approaches of integration.The chapter V, on the foundation of theory research and practice, summarizes ways and methods of case school organizational culture integration, throwing out some related thoughts about how to boost further reform and development of the case school.
