The Study On The Cultivation Of Current Social Capital In China

Social capital, which was formed after 1990s, is a popular concept which has attracted attention in several major disciplines. As the third capital that stands side by side with material capital and human capital, social capital is a normal form of new explanation with high overview ability. Recent researches on social capital lay their emphases on how to achieve theoretical innovation in the newly built sociological field, with the aim to make more persuasive explanation to social reality. Based on a literature review of existing achievements of social capital, the author analyzes the concept of social capital, and sets three criteria definition for analytical framework of social capital, namely credit, norm and network. This thesis commences from credit, social norm and participation network, based on analysis of the practice of our country social capital, discusses and forms the cultivation framework of social capital fitting the reality of China, and offers some considerations on countermeasures for the cultivation of social capital.This thesis is divided into four parts to carry on the research:The first part: It firstly introduces the research background and significance of the thesis; then it introduces the present academic situation in and abroad on the theory of social capital; finally it introduces the design of research (the definition of conception, the research methods and the analysis structure).The second part: It analyzes social capital's influence on the social development from the perspectives of credit, social norm and participation network angles.The third part: This thesis analyzes the present problems of social capital in China, such as crisis of confidence, absence of social norm, participation network lagging.The fourth part: With the analysis of civil society cultivation framework and government cultivation framework, this thesis brings forward the mode for cultivating social capital in our country—"government and society"mode, then discusses that the cultivation of our country's social capital from the following aspects: establishing modern social credit system; consummating social norm; developing participation network.
