The education of China went though violent transform in the modern society. The transform of curriculum was the core. The curriculum of middle school also went through the transform ancient curriculum to modern curriculum. The modernization of curriculum occurred in the special historical period for semi-colonial and semi-feudal society. It occurred with the development of capitalism, the impact of western culture on China society, but it was inevitable result of the Chinese society and development of the education.Through the efforts and exploring of the innovators of landlord class,the learners from the west,reformists and bourgeoisie revolutionaries. The curriculum of middle school conforms to own system from copy overseas to establishment has experienced a long process. In this process, the curriculum of middle school reform has the characteristic which is in sole possession in the special historical situation: The curriculum reform is been big the traditional influence, imitates the Japanese curriculum primarily, the curriculum reform by changes from passively to initiatively.By carding the history of modernization of middle school curriculum, we may draw some conclusion: The curriculum of middle school reform must achieve foundational, the integrity to pay equal attention to, realizes the middle school to raise the citizen foundation quality the function; Faces up to the economy to the curriculum restriction function, Chinese economic structure is different from the West. The curriculum content must keep pace with the times, manifests the time development the essence. We should find unceasingly the problem and solve the problem promptly in the curriculum reform of middle school process, make curriculum of middle school adapt social and the individual need, and better promote its development.By many ways, such as historical research and comparative study, this paper divides fore parts.Part one, guided by Marxism, analyzed the reasons for the rise of curriculum reform of middle school from the end of Qing Dynasty to the beginning of the Republic of China.Part two, expounded the implementation of curriculum reform of middle school from the end of Qing Dynasty to the beginning of the Republic of China.Part three, based upon previous analysis, analyzed the characteristics of curriculum reform of middle school from the end of Qing Dynasty to the beginning of the Republic of China.Part four, connecting history with the reality of contemporary, expounded the academic and practical significance of curriculum reform of middle school from the end of Qing Dynasty to the beginning of the Republic of China.
