When to hold the Olympic Games by China,which is one-hundred year dream. Therefore,for chinese people,the Olympics have not only a common game,but also a national self-esteem and sense of pride in the achievement,which will also contain complicated meaning.The complicated meaning is bound to embody in the propaganda film of the Olympics through the way of communication.In order to successfully hold the 2008 Olympic Games,the Chinese have made a lot of propaganda films,which is inevitable in this era of visual image.In this thesis,we will recall the film of the Beijing application for the Olympic Games in 2001 and that of emblem about Beijing Olympics,and then we analyse the two propaganda films with the method of text analysis—Semeiology.At the same time,the thesis will compare the two propaganda films with the film of the Beijing application for the Olympic Games in 1993,and draw conclusions from them.We are trying to find the visual propaganda text of the Olympics is how to convey meaning and build the Myth.Through the visual text analysis,the first we demonstrate the laws about the visual signs of the two propganda films,and then on the basis of the laws we also find that the films construct a large number of myths,including:ancient civilizations myth, modernization myth,Western culture myth,national culture myth,and cultural recognition myth.Of course,the conclusions of the study is not absolute and closed, but should be relative and open.This is also the true of Semeiology.
