The Settlement Intention Of Floating Population In Fujian

Household Registration system based framework has developed the huge affect, gained certain achievement in the study on population floating process. Yet, currently, it increasingly appears that there is more complicated in floating process, the limitation of registration system framework and traditional study field becomes increasingly obviously. Based on new research framework, which is composed by theories of new economics of labour migration, dual labour market, mobility transition and etc, this article intends to do research beyond the registration system framework. From the view of floating population's settlement intention, by analyzing the data in spot check of 2006, Fujian Province, this article studies migration process and diversification mechanism of floating population.It firstly analyzed the data from surveys, and reviewed, from diverse views and levels, the settlement intention of Fujian floating population. It showed that, according to their settlement intentions, floating population can be divided into three groups-the ones intend to settle down in destinations, the ones intend to back home, and the ones intend to settle down in other regions. Although certain part of floating population intend to settle down in destinations, most of them have still took backing home as their first choice; moreover, they became prudential when they were actually intending to settle down. These all make practical sense to supervise floating population and do city planning.Then, based on investigated data of 2006, the writer firstly analyzed the inner discrepancy of floating population's settlement intention by Descriptive Analysis, and made primary research about influenced factors of settlement intention. Relying on above research, the writer has probed into deeper by Logistic Regression method. It inferred that the settlement intention selection of floating population is effected by four levels-national system, city, family and individual, and other extensive factors. Finally, linking with correlative theories, writer explained the influenced factors, and managed to investigate, from the point of settlement intention, the dividing elements in floating process, all which is for better and deeper understanding of migration process and diversification mechanism of floating population.
