From the Piaget's theory of"scheme"to Vygotsky's"recent developments", as well as the modern"social construction", constructivism has gone through a long-term development, and the modern theory of constructivism has improved and perfected comparatively.1980's constructivism has caused great concerns among Chinese educators. A new junior middle school curriculum standards and new teaching materials have been put into use throughout the country from the autumn of 2002 and opened a new curriculum reform on a large screen. I believe that many ideas of the new middle school mathematics curriculum standards are directly or indirectly influenced by Constructivism. Such as:"The mathematics teaching must be based on the cognitive development and the existing knowledge level of students. Teachers should stimulate the enthusiasm of students, and provide students with adequate opportunities to engage in mathematics activities to help them to explore their own exchanges and cooperation in the process so that they can really understand and master the basic knowledge and skills in mathematics, mathematical thinking, and a wide range of mathematical activities experience.How the mathematics teaching or the new junior middle school curriculum standards is affected by constructivism ? In this paper, I make some practical research in junior middle school in the light of constructivism.I begin the theory study from the constructivist theory of learning concept, teaching, evaluation of the concept, and other aspects, to find the theoretical basis for junior middle school mathematics teaching .I have come to the conclusion that the constructivist theory will play an important role in the new curriculum reform.The practice work begin from mathematics teaching based on constructivism, focusing on the teaching mode directed by the new curriculum standards how to improve teaching efficiency and carried out lesson analysis so that the constructivism and the middle school mathematical teaching integrate fairly perfectly .
