According to cognitive psychology, the correct representation of a problem is the key to solve the problem. The representation of the same thing can either be sign language (ie. proposition) or graphic symbols (ie. imagery). There are different ways of representation, and so its brain processing is not same. There is a close contact between problem solving, thinking theory, visual theory, information processing theory and graphic representation, which has been shown to be superior to proposition representation. In addition, graphic representation is not only consistent with the content of expression in physics and also matches the characteristics of thinking in physics. Cognitive psychology provided evidence in the field of physics expert skills. The survey from the author's school shows that graphic capability of physical context is closely related to physical performance of senior middle school students. The stronger the students' graphics capability is, the better their physical performance is.Graphic representation of physical circumstances can be divided into graphics signal and function image. Graphics signal represents true visual images through photos or simple two-dimensional graphics. Function Image clearly display in front of us the interdependent relationship between physical quantity and changes in the characteristics of the cycle through the images of geometric features, that is, point, line, surface, slope, intercept and area, thus expressing a complex physical process in a simple way.The application of graphic representation consists of four parts, thinking via images, working out the problem via images, memorizing via images and creating via images. Thinking via images means observing chart shapes, comparing two-dimensional space, exchanging three-dimension and plane, fixing dynamic process and highlighting the invisible objects. Working out the problem via images consists of constructing the geometric relationship, applying function images, graphing dynamic process and physical context. Memorizing via images means promoting high school students to deepen their understanding and knowledge of the physical memory through graphic representation. Creating via images consists of the application of analogy and dealing with experimental data.
