Since 2002 our country starts elementary school English curriculum comprehensively, the elementary school English education entered a stage of hypergrowth. The number of elementary school English learners increased in large quantities. In such situation, how to face all students and respect difference under the classroom-based teaching system has become the focal point which the teachers pay attention to day by day. From the differentiated teaching's angle, taking English curriculum rationale as the instruction and English teaching theory as the foundation, this research studies the current situation of differentiated teaching in elementary school English by using interviewing method and classroom observation, and so on. It discusses the reasons for producing the problems and proposes implementation strategies of the differentiated teaching in elementary school English under the new curriculum concept. In order to advocate more elementary school English teachers value and practice the differentiated teaching.This paper involves the introduction and four parts, the main contents of each part as follows:The introduction narrates the raising of the question, current situation in domestic and foreign research, the value of research, the thread of research and research method. The first part is the theory frame of the differentiated teaching in elementary school English, including the concept and the principle of differentiated teaching, the theoretical base of differentiated teaching, the characteristics of elementary school English education and the connection between differentiated teaching and the elementary school English, and student's different performance types in classroom. The second part is the diagnosis part. The author has shown the current situation of differentiated teaching in elementary school English through the interview and observation. The third part discusses the reasons for producing the problems of differentiated teaching in the elementary school English. The fourth part is the key part of the paper. It has studies implementation strategies of differentiated teaching in elementary school English, from the macroscopic and the microscopic dimensions.
