The Esthetic Analysis Of Competitive Wushu Under The View Of Competition Rules

Competitive wushu had begun in 1950's. It is based on Chinese traditional martial arts. The skills of attack and defence is the essence of athletic wushu. It has becamed a mutiple functional sport having not only the function of defending but also the function of entertainment, performance, body building, etc.In the several tens years of development, competition rules is always guiding the development of competitive wushu. The development of competitive wushu is also promoting the transforming and renewing of competition rules. Nowadays, competitive wushu skills is developing to the direction of high, difficult, beautiful and new. Therefore, the author is trying to discuss the competitive wushu esthetics by comparing and contrasting the difference between competition rules. The research has important meaning to improve the appreciation grade of people greatly and to raise the competitiveness of wushu athletes.This thesis adopt document data law,expert interview law, parallel analysis law to analyse competitive wushu esthetics under the view of competition rules mainly from 1996 to 2007. Study results as follows(1)Through the contrast of different rules, we can see that the wushu competition rule is ceaselessly improving. The standard of score follows the example of other Olympic events such as gymnastics.(2)The beauty of competitive wushu is mainly expressed through the mode of beauty in form which includes beauty of body, beauty of posing, beauty of physical strength, beauty of structure, beauty of music and beauty of costume.(3) There has been added two more esthetic elements: the beauty of music and the beauty of costume. New rule has increased the regulation in background music, and has relaxed restriction on competition clothing. These new regulations wonderfully combining the wushu competition with music and different style, different color clothing has added a good effect in the competition.(4) New rule putting into effect have promoted development of martial art skills, it have brought forward higher call for to athlete's body quality. New rule has made a lot of new regulations about background music, clothing, formation, etc. These new regulations can effectively improve the competition. But athlete have put more interest in the formation of wushu and worked hard on the high difficult body moves. They showed less interest in the quality of the basic moves. There are less combat beauty expressed in wushu competition. Therefore, the beauty of combat should be reinforced。(5)The esthetic characteristics of competitive wushu mainly are:supernormality, Interdependence, intuition, craftsmanship, artistry, modeling, novelty, and rhythm.
