Basketball has a good foundation in our country. No matter in the playground of campus or middle shool, we always can see many students playing basketball. Moreover, basketball in the morden socity is multi-disciplinary educational subject. It is the integration of pedagogy, science of health, science of recreation and psychology.By means of questionaire, materials collection, interview, logical analysis and mathematical-statistics, in order to show the advantanges and disadvantages of the development of high school in the rural ares of Liaoning Porvince, this paper makes a research and analysis of the mainly exist problems and the development tendency of the basketball teaching, basketball playing outside the class and the basketball training of the school team in high school. Combining with the practical sisuation of our province, this paper proposes some constructive suggestions for the high school basketball development of our province ever our country. Through the research we can draw the followingconclustions:1. Basketball has a mass foundation in high schools of the rural ares of Liaoning Province. Most high schools arrange basketing teaching in the sports and health course. A great majority of the high school students participate in basketball actively. But for the basketall training, it is not as well as the basketball teaching.2. The teachers of the high school in the rural ares of Liaoning Province are mostly holding the Junior college degrees. These teachers are in different age structures and mostly of them are major in physical education, basketball major has a quite high rate among them.3. Basketball can help to alleviate the pressure of entering the higher school. Optimizing the atmersphere of basketball and the popularization of basketball in high school will accelerate the development of basketball in high school of Liaoning Porvince.4. But for the basketball training in high school in the rural ares, it is weak in the faculty force. What is more, it can not guarantee the facility and training time. For the students, they have a fierce conflict in the time of learing and training. For the baskteball players, they lack of competition opportunities to put what they have learned into pratical. Suggestions:1. In order to improve the teachers'teaching level and scientific training system, try to make them to go on with further education and relative trainings to develop their potentials.2. To increase the input of basketball equipments and try to find the locoal favorable conditions to make it more suitale for the basketball training and basketball palying.3. Under the leading of teaching reform, change the fluidity of basketball teaching in the sports and health course. According to the actual situation of school and students, try to improve the basketball teaching level and even set a selective basketball course in some of the high schools those have better condition.4. Pay attension to the subject factors of the students themselves. Focus on the cultivation of the interest of basketball, for example, form interest groups and pay attention to the comprehensive utilization of the resources in and out the school. To enhance the students'understanding of basketball and let them like to participate it positively so that it can form a good basketball culture in school.5. Establish a sentific competition mechanism, and deepen the reform of the administrative system of basketball, so that it can hold some competitions of all leves in our province in good order. Seek and cultivate the born basketball talents to develop the rural children who have basketball gift.
