The paper investigates and analyses the sports meetings of 15 universities in Shanghai by the methodology of questionnaire, expert interview, literature search and statistics, and finds out the problems and countermeasures. The main problems the paper pionts out are: 1, The participants number of sports meeting of universities in Shanghai is limitted in terms of the short duration. 2, Universities in Shanghai attaches more importance on the opening ceremony than the process of sports meeting. 3, The programs of university sports meeting in Shanghai can not meet the needs of students. 4, The students of universities in Shanghai do not play their roles in organising sports meeting. 5, The evaluating system of universites in Shanghai is not reasonable. 6, The enthusiasm of physical education teachers is not activated. The main countermeasures of these problems in university sports meeting of Shanghai are: 1, The duration of sports meeting should be prolonged, and different kinds of games can be held whin after-school time,and then the final game will be finished in one or two days. Every student does have oppertunities to participate games and enjoy their activity, and it can help students understand how to respect life and pay more attention to health development physically and psychologically. 2, The opening and closing ceremony should be simple and practical, and the more important thing is let students participate the sports meeting. 3, The matches of sports meeting should show competence,entertainment and interest, and more team games should be on the list so that the participants can enjoy team work and make the sports meeting more harmonious.4, The experience from Olympic Games should be learned to play the role of volunteers and cultivate organising ability, team and service concept, and it is very helpful for students to care others and become open minded. 5, The multi-level evaluating system should be set to expand reward range including students, class, deparments and working staff. 6, University should give reward to teachers for their working overtime physically and mentally.
