Enlightenment From U.S. Student Affairs Management To China's Counsellors' Professionalization And Specialization

With China entering the era of Mass Education, college students affairs management comes to face more severe challenges. With the goal of professionalization and specialization of high-level counselors' team construction turns to be an important step to promote the ideological and political education of college students and to train qualified builders and reliable successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Since the counselors system was established, China's colleges and universities counselor team construction and counselors' work has made considerable development in the direction of professionalization and specialization. However, in the developing process, there are still some problems needing urgent solution.Having one of the most developed and fully maket-guided higher education, U.S. has accumulated a wealth of experience. With the experience drawing of U.S. student's affairs team consruction, this paper explores the means of counselors' team's professionalization and specialization construction with Chinese characteristics. The last section is concluding remarks.At present, counselors' team construction has been attached great importance from all aspects. According to the State Council's unified deployment, the Ministry of Education has issued a series of policies and measures, and at all levels of education units, colleges and universities have also speed up the construction efforts. As a result, the counselors come to meet an unprecedented good opportunity. Based history analysis, current situation graping, China and foreign countries'comparing, and policies'nterpreting, this paper has made some suggestions to the university counselors. Especially the discussion of professionalization and specialization of counselors'team makes it unique to all.
