Teachers of compulsory education shoulder the responsibility of fundamental education of the whole nation. Nowadays, the reform on their pay system has become a global hot issue. China began to carry out performance pay system in compulsory education on January 1st,2009. The United States, as the world earliest country to implement performance pay system in public primary and secondary school teachers, has made positive exploration and practice in this aspect, whose successful experience and problems worth our using for reference.The full article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is an introduction to the dissertation. It explains the background and significance of the research, explores the study home and abroad on American public primary and secondary school teachers performance pay system, introduces the ways of thinking and research methods of the and defines the chief concepts and terms used in the dissertation.The second chapter describes the historical evolution of the American public primary and secondary school teachers'performance pay system. A historical look at teacher performance pay system in American public primary and secondary school is provided. The study delves into past in order to understand the present better.This is one of the most important aspects of the dissertation:offering a historical perspective of teacher performance pay system in American public primary and secondary school.The third chapter analyzes the current state of the performance pay system. Firstly it discusses the implementation mode and characteristics of public primary and secondary school teachers performance pay system. Secondly, it analyzes the positve and negative effects of American public primary and secondary school teachers performance pay system. Thirdly, the internal and external factors influencing the implementation of American public primary and secondary school teachers performance pay system is analyzed.The fourth chapter makes a preview of the future orientation of American public primary and secondary schools teachers'performance pay system.The fifth chapter draws lessons from the apocalypse. It firstly discusses the current situation and the existing problems of compulsory education teachers'performance pay system in China, and then focuses on the experience of American public primary and secondary school teacher performance pay system which can provide the reference and inspiration to our country.
