Research On The Social Work Practice Across Rehabilitation Of Children With Disabilities

It has become a symbol of civilized and progressive society to care and help the disabled person. The children with disabilities need more care as the weakest in the minority groups. The rehabilitation of children with disabilities has an important meaning, not only to themselves, but also to their families and our society. The rehabilitation of children with disabilities is comprehensive, including medical rehabilitation, education rehabilitation and social rehabilitation. This paper chooses some children from Suzhou Welfare house and Jinchang Pui Chi School as the clients, using the social work to intervene the rehabilitation of children with disabilities from the micro level. The key point of this paper is to discover the advantages and potential of children with disabilities, to improve their self-confidence, to establish normal relationships, to achieve social rehabilitation. Analyze the reasons for the rehabilitation of children with disabilities through field investigation, case interviews, case work and group work, then show the social work practice across the rehabilitation of children with disabilities in relationship building, service delivery and closing, form some practical methods. All these can provide some suggestions to the social worker and some practice evidence to the government in formulating policies relating to rehabilitation of disabled children.
