David Geoffrey Smith(1946-) is an educational scholar from Alberta University of Canada. He studies education from globalization,as well as political, economic and cultural perspective, to explore educational issues from the unique perspective of hermeneutics, and to put forward the concept of post-modern pedagogy, he has a keen insight and forward-looking to research education. Therefore, the study of his educational ideas has an important value in today's context of globalization, it has an important inspiration for our country's reforming in basic education.Base on the development of Smith's educational thought in this paper, summaring his thinking of education on hermeneutics dimensions and the main structure of post-modern pedagogy. Analysising that Smith's hermeneutics thinking played an important role in his education al researching, as a result that we should be related for understanding the meaning of things or text instead of absolute, and to reach consensus from a dialogue between different people. And then mainly discussed main framework of Smith's post-modern pedagogy, elaborated pedagogy' crisis under the influence of the global market, hoping to hermeneutics pedagogy and teachers playing an important role in the future of pedagogy, focusing on analysis of Smith's Critical theory of education, the language and text in their scenarios, discussed his view of post-modern curriculum and teaching, emphasizing the internationalization and localization for theory of curriculum, proposed a new type of teacher identity and interactive teaching. In the final chapter, analysising the limitations of Smith's educational thinking from the side, but also affirmed his educational ideas that have an important revelation for our country's reforming in the basisc education.
