While the concept of child development-based has been stressed in education reform, teacher's evaluation for children have changed correspondently.In order to make the evaluation comprehensive and objective, kindergartens have started the practice of establishing growth portfolio for each individual. However, the practice can not reach to the family life on children nor the first three years of children. It is a very common behavior for the families to document children's growth, but more an unconscious act.The quality and what role the documenting plays, pending further research. In addition, while early family education are payed more attention to,the guidance provide by early education institutions should include all family parental behavior, in fact, the portfolio-related guidance are not carried out.Therefore, it is necessary to start relevant study.The paper study on preschool children's goes on the following aspects:(1) The current situation of domestic growth documentation for preschool children. The differences of domestic documentation between two generations, the current documentation situation in preschool children's family and the relevant guidance in early education institutions were analyzed through a lot of questionnaire and interviews. The result showed that:parents are lack of the awareness of constructing portfolio for the children and professional guidance, so they can't make good use of their documentation.(2) The practical study on domestic growth documentation for preschool children. Some action researches on photo records were carried out. These study find and stress the educational significance and value of photo records:to convert into growth portfolio and as reading material for preschool children. Considering the existing problems in photo recording, some explore was taken place in order to find a appropriate practical model for constructing portfolio and photo reading.Based on the above analysis, considering the existing problems, the paper put forward several suggestions:to improve child-care literacy of parents through constructing portfolio; to portfolio-related provide professional guidance by early education institutions; to allow grandparents and nannies to participate to the documentation.
