With the rapid development of science and technology and the emergence of knowledge economy, modern society requires students to have a more a broad knowledge background and a more comprehensive quality. It is no doubt that we put forward new demands of higher education. The cultivation of scientific literacy has become an inevitable cultural demands to train up new and innovative talents, as the forward position of personnel training, higher education must step up the cultivation of university students' scientific literacy. For various reasons, China's current overall level of university students' scientific literacy is not optimistic, and this requires us to put on improving the scientific literacy as the standard training of new personnel on the agenda.the cultivation of scientific literacy as an important aspect of Quality Education, it was given new tasks and historic mission. The subject based on a comprehensive, in-depth investigation, through the analysis of contemporary university students' scientific literacy status and problems, it not only deepen university students cultivate innovative theory of scientific literacy research, but also put forward scientific literacy development work of new ideas and innovative ways of students in practical level.This article is divided into four parts: First, it introduced the research background, significance, research ideas, methods and research status. Second, it clarified the basic theoretical issues of university students' scientific literacy. Through the analysis of scientific literacy, university students' scientific literacy and its meaning, characteristics and structure, it clarified that the structure of scientific literacy is indispensable and it was an important quality components to students. This is the basis for this study. Third, it analyzed the status of contemporary university students' scientific literacy. It used questionnaires, and interviews in order to target some universities in Guangzhou. It also systematically analyzed and discussed students'cultivate scientific literacy and its present situation, problems and their causes, and that provides a basis for the study of students'cultivate science literacy. Finally, it cultivated new ideas for contemporary university students' scientific literacy, it discusses the education system reform and innovation, innovative teaching methods, platform construction, and create a strong STS education on campus and interaction and integration with the scientific and cultural communication of innovation and scientific literacy through development work.This study will help to promote Humanistic Education in college during the same time paying enough attention to foster scientific literacy issues, the ideas and suggestion which was put forward for development work of university students' scientific literacy will also provide reference for higher education to train new and innovative talent to play a greater role.
