A Research On The Development Of Education For Mental Retardation In Shandong Peovince

Special education is an important criterion for a country's education level and civilaization degree. In Shandong province it has a history of over 10 years, and presents a prosperous developing trend after Reform and Opening. The dissertation, referring to historical facts, is an investigation into modern special education in Shandong province by applying the methods of literature research, historical induction and investigating etc.The purpose of research on this topic is to analyze problems during the development process through history review and present situation analysis on mentally retarded education development in Shandong, and put forward thoughts and suggestions based on features in Shandong. Furthermore, provides references for educational authorities'decision making, in the attempt to promote the development of operation benefit and quality for mental retardation education agencies, and also to perfect the development of mental retardation education in Shandong province in an active way.This article is mainly divided into four parts:The first part gives a brief background to development process and the historical review and summary of education for mental retardation in Shandong province. In the second,third and fourth part, respectively expound laws and policies,teacher training and curriculum development of education for mental retardation, and presents some problems existing in these three areas. The last part proposes some development policy to the problem of three areas which about laws and policies,teachers training and curriculum development of education for mental retardation education on the basis of practical situation in Shandong province, mainly including:changing concept; reinforcing teacher groups'construction and consistently improving teachers'qualification; perfecting laws and policies of education for mental retardation.
