The distributed control system (DCS) is the popular control system in the continuous process. The filedbus control system (FCS) is in the beginning of development. A new type control system -KS-100 control system is introduced in this paper, which integrates the technical advantages of the DCS and the FCS. The system is one of the key projects of the Shanghai Automation Instrumentation Co.,Ltd in the year 2000~-2001, which will contribute to the middle and small enterprise for their process control.The structure, the designs of the hardware and the software of the new type control system are presented in this paper. Also the system's communication function and the control function are introduced. The software of the system includes monitor, configuration, controller, I/O and communication, which are the important works of the development of the system.An embedded system Pc/i 04 with International Standard IEEE P966.1 was used in the design of the field control station, and so the communication card and the I/O cards. The time of the development is shortened with this method.Universal software is used in the monitor and the configuration software is designed. The monitor software connects with system by the OPC or DDE.In the development of the software, the function blocks are used. The software runs on the function blocks. Under the supporting of the configuration software, customers can use the function blocks to realize PJD control. It made the software flexible.The Ethernet technology is used in the communication of the system. The communication software is developed with socket programming method based on the TCP/IP protocol. The controller is put in the field of industry. It connects with workstation through the Ethernet. The digital signals are used in the long distance transmission. The system is more stable.
