The Water-Meter Networking Reading System On The Basis Of M-BUS

This thesis, in the beginning, analyzes the various automatic meter-reading systems in detail that are currently available at home and abroad, and compares both their hardware components and their software architectures, which contributes to the water-meter networking reading system on the basis of M-BUS. Next, it introduces the new system's hardware composition, M-BUS's characteristics and its relevant physical traits, closely followed by the overall summary of advantages to water-meter reading with the help of M-BUS. Afterwards, it puts forward the effective ways to automate the existent mechanic water-meters and the corresponding electric circuit designs.The focus of this thesis is on the introduction of the software architecture of the new system, including selecting the appropriate development flat, PC communicating principle, its own software modules and the respective functioning principles of the related parts. Besides, some modules are offered such as a universal data encoding and decoding module, a power management module and a remote monitoring module. As to the system's reliability, a subtle analysis is developed in the aspects of both software and hardware. In the end, the thesis looks forward to the prospect and the possible function extension of the newly developed meter-reading system.
