It is required that original data should be stored in real time for the sake of the processing and analysis of them aftertime , especially in the field of aviation and space , telemetry , modem electronic technology and so on. Under the background of the development those, then there are cries for the bulky, low power , reliable, small, twopenny data collection systems.Hard disks are playing an important role in the data collection systems for its small volume, for its capacity and its direct access. Thereupon, Hard disks are in place of the parallel processing systems and the tape recording systems. In usual the storage systems based on hard disks are always used in computers dependently, then it result in the limits of the speed, volume and the application situation. Sowe excogitated the special control equipment for the data collection systems.This paper analyses the high speed data collection and the real time storage design with the using of DSP, FPGA, CPLD, double-ported RAM on base of IDE hard disk.For the sake of the later processing of the collecting data when connecting the hard disk to the computer after the collection and in allusion to the type of the files in the operating system that stored, the FAT32 for the data storage are specified.The mode of PIO is adopted in the write and read of dates transferred to or from the hard disk, as a result, the speed of the transfers and the difficulty for programming are matched.For the convenience of transferring of the collecting data, we used interface of USB in the design and fulfilled the design of a simple portable hard disk.The device has been debugged successfully, data of several channels can stored in real time with no losing, meanwhile, the files can be opened and can be accordingly disposed in the operation system.
