Objective :To understand the epidemiology of oral and maxillofacial trauma in Shandong Province, and provide scientific basis for prevention and treatment of oral and maxillofacial trauma in Shandong area. Methods:Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Binzhou Medical College, Yantai(formerly Mouping People’s Hospital), 1321 cases of oral and maxillofacial trauma Yantai Hill Hospital of hospitalized patients with clinical data were retrospectively analyzed survey. To understand the characteristics of rural and urban areas of oral and maxillofacial trauma Shandong age, sex, occupation, time, cause, type, organ damage merger, the combined nerve injury, the treatment and the like.Results:1 After five years the number of cases was significantly higher than the previous five years(P <0.05), in which the ratio of the number of patients in rural areas in five years than the previous five years the number of cases has increased significantly(P <0.05);2 First five years the percentage of patients from rural areas was significantly lower than the city(P <0.05); after five years, the percentage of patients from rural areas was significantly lower than the city(P <0.05); after five years, patients from rural areas of the percentage significantly higher than the previous five years the percentage of patients from rural areas(P <0.05);3 Rural and urban populations age were mainly aged 20 to 39 years of stage;4 After five years, the percentage of patients with farmers over the previous five years significant decrease(P <0.05); after five years, the percentage of patients in the previous five years, workers significantly increased(P <0.05);5 Accidents and injuries were the main reason for trauma injuries, the percentage of five years after the accident which caused damage and trauma injuries over the previous five years, significantly higher(P <0.05);6 The percentage of the main types of soft tissue trauma and fracture injuries, five years after the soft tissue and fracture and soft tissue injuries and fracture associated with other organ damage in patients compared with the previous year increased significantly(P <0.05); After five years, the percentage of pure soft tissue injury of oral and maxillofacial trauma patients over the previous five years, a significant decrease(P <0.05);7 After five years, the percentage of pure soft tissue injury of oral and maxillofacial trauma patients over the previous five years, a significant decrease(P <0.05);8 After five years in patients with comminuted fractures, bone percentage than five years after deletion significantly increased(P <0.05); After five years in patients with fracture displacement type and the percentage of non-displacement type significantly decreased(P <0.05) than that after five years; After five years, the percentage of the cheekbone fracture compared with the previous five years was significantly decreased(P <0.05); after five years, the average number of mandibular fractures at significantly increased over the previous five years(P <0.05); after five years of the frontal part the average number of the cheekbone area and nasal bone fractures was significantly reduced(P <0.05) compared with the previous five years.9 Five years after the first five years and a higher percentage of damaged parts of the main organ for nerve damage it, damage brain damage, limb damage and eye damage. After five years of oral and maxillofacial trauma with head injury, chest injury limb injury percentage compared with the previous five years was significantly increased(P <0.05).10 Significantly higher than the number of cases of nerve injury after five years of the previous five years(P <0.05); the percentage of patients with nerve injury compared with the previous five years, five years after the face significantly increased(P <0.05); after five years, the percentage of nerve injury compared chin five years ago, significantly lower(P <0.05)11 After five years, the percentage of the use of rigid fixation significantly increased over the previous five years(P <0.05); the percentage of conservative treatment after five years compared with the previous five years was significantly decreased(P <0.05).Conclusions:1 Yantai area of oral and maxillofacial trauma number increases every year, the growth rate of the patients from rural areas than in urban areas, the number of male patients is much higher than the female patients, but year after year to reduce the proportion of men and women, aged 20 to 39 years old is in Yantai mouth high risk of maxillofacial trauma.2 Yantai area of oral and maxillofacial trauma patients career mainly farmers and workers, mainly because of the trauma of the accident damage and injuries.3 Percentage types of oral and maxillofacial trauma in Yantai area mainly simple soft tissue injury, soft tissue injury and fracture, soft tissue injury and fracture consolidation organ damage and organ damage and fracture and increasing every year.4 Yantai area of soft tissue damage type of oral and maxillofacial trauma mainly contusion, location and orbital mainly lip; main types of bone fractures is deficient, grinding type, displacement-type and non-displacement type, location is the maxillary and cheekbones; organ damage mainly traumatic brain injury, limb injuries and eye damage, and brain damage and limb percentage increase every year.5 Nerve damage in Yantai area and maxaiillofacial trauma mainly facial nerve damage.6 Yantai area of oral and maxillofacial trauma fracture treatment approach is mainly used rigid internal fixation.
