| Object1 To analysis the diabetes rate and normal glucose tolerance rate of pre-diabetes population after 18 months.2 To Analysis the influence of demographic features, relevant baseline indicators, and lifestyle to the changes in glucose among pre-diabetes population.Subject and MethodsThis study analysis the diabetes rate and normal glucose tolerance rate and its influence factors among pre-diabetes population in Shanxi Province by comparing baseline and follow-up investigation data.1.Quesionnaire, A self-designed questionnaire has been used, a face-to-face investigation has been conducted by investigators to pre-diabetes population. Baseline survey questionnaire included basic information, lifestyle and behavior, common chronic diseases and knowledge, attitudes and behavior about diabetes prevention. The follow up questionnaire is similar to the baseline questionnaire.2.Physical measurements, including height, weight, waist circumference and blood pressure. Height measurements were sitting height meter height and weight were measured using electronic scales, blood pressure measurement using electronic sphygmomanometer.3.Laboratory testing, including FPG,2hPG,TC,TG,LDL-C,HDL-C. Venous plasma glucose level was measured using the hexokinase method, FPG was asked to more than 12 h of fasting,2h PG was tested two hours after oral administration of 75 g glucose (previous diabetes patients took bread meal made by 100g cornstarch). All the subjects conduct laboratory testing of fasting serum lipids.ResultA total of 2854 baseline survey found that 470 patients with pre-diabetes. The prevalence rate of pre-diabetes was 17.31%. The prevalence rate of isolated-impaired fasting glucose (I-IFG), isolated-impaired glucose tolerance (I-IGT) and impaired fasting glucose combined with impaired glucose tolerance (IGF/IGT) were 5.76%,7.87% and 3.72% respectively. The patients with pre-diabetes was investigated after 18 month and the effective sample size was 338. The overall normal glucose tolerance (NGT) rate was 15.38%. The NGT rate of patients with I-IFG, I-IGT and IFG/IGT at baseline were 11.67%.15.23%and 22.39%. The overall rate progressing to NGT was 54.44%. The rate progressing from I-IFG, I-IGT and IFG/IGT to NGT were 61.67%,54.97% and 40.30%.Multivariate analysis shows that the influence factors on progression from pre-diabetes to NGT were baseline 2hPG, TG change value, LDL-C change value; Among patients with I-IFG, the influence factors were age and TG change value; Among patients with I-IGT, the influence factors were high blood pressure at baseline, TC change value, diet control; There was no significant factors among patients with IFG/IGT.Multivariate analysis shows that the influence factors on progression from pre-diabetes to NGT were education, baseline FPG, baseline 2hPG, TG change value, HDL-C change value. Among patients with I-IFG, the influence factors were female, family history of diabetes, county, TG change value; Among patients with I-IGT, the influence factors were education, baseline 2hPG, HDL-C change value.Conclusion1. The diabetes rate and normal glucose tolerance rate of pre-diabetes population in Huguan and Shouyang County in Shanxi Province after 18 months is 15.38% and 54.44% respectively.2. The diabetes rate is relevant to baseline hypertension,2hPGã€the change of TG,LDL-C, and TC, age,self-reported control of diet in follow-up survey.3. The normal glucose tolerance rate is relevant to baseline FPG,2hPG, the change of TG,HDL-C, education level, sex, diabetes family history, living area. |
