ObjectiveUse the method of abdominal vibration therapy on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) rats,and observe the effect on fasting blood glucose (FBG), corticosterone (CORT),adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH),adrenocorticotropic hormone releasing hormone (CRH)and glucocorticoid receptor(GR). To research the effect of abdominal vibration therapy on glucose metabolism of T2DM rats and the effect on the activity of HPA. Therefore provide experimental evidence for the clinical application of abdominal vibration therapy preventing or treating T2DM.MethodAfter 1 week of adaptive feeding,60 Wistar rats were randomly divided in two groups:a control group (10)and a model group (50). Rats in the control group were fed normal laboratory rat chow while rats in the model group were fed with chow containing high amount of sugar and fat. After 6 weeks, the model group received a single i.p. injection of STZ (30 mg/kg), while the control group received a single i.p. injection of citric acid-sodium citrate buffer solution of the same volume. Making models for 3 days and fasting blood glucose levels were tested. Rats which met the T2DM standard were randomly divided into the model group control group and treatment group. Abdominal vibration therapy was only used in the treatment group for 15 minutes every other day. The treatment will last for six weeks. Before and after treatment test FBGAfter treatment tested CORT,ACTH,CRH and GR.Results1 BehaviorDuring the experiment, the control group rats active action, reaction alert, normal diet, the hair smooth, there were no obvious changes of drinking water and urine.After making models, the rats in model group and the treatment group are in depression, slow to action, wool rough, quantity of water quantity and urine volume was increased significantly, the packing was sour and changed high frequency.After the abdominal vibration therapy, compared with the control group, ease symptoms, activities increased, water quantity and urine volume was reduced, the packing change frequency slightly decreases.2 FBGBefore making models, the FBG of the model group and the treatment group had no difference (P>0.05).After making models, compared with the control group, the FBG of the model group rose significantly (P<0.05).After the abdominal vibration therapy, compared with the control group, the FBG of the model group rose significantly (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the FBG of the treatment group dropped significantly (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the FBG of the treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05).3 Adrenal IndexCompared with the control group, the adrenal Index of the model group,the treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the adrenal Index of the treatment group and dropped significantly (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the adrenal Index of the treatment group rose significantly (P<0.05).4 Adrenal CORTCompared with the control group, the Adrenal CORT of the model group rose significantly (P<0.05).Compared with the model group, the Adrenal CORT of the treatment group dropped significantly (P<0.05).5 Hypothalamus CRHCompared with the control group, the hypothalamus CRH of the model group rose significantly (P<0.05).Compared with the model group, the hypothalamus CRH of treatment group dropped significantly (P<0.05).Conclusions1 T2MD rat model induced by high amounts of sugar and fat chow combined with single injection STZ (30mg/kg). Symptoms and pathogenesis are similar to the T2DM persons.2 Abdominal vibration therapy can alleviate high fasting blood glucose and improve glucose metabolism disorders.3 Abdominal vibration therapy can alleviate adrenal Index, hypothalamus CRH and and adrenal CORT improve the disorder of HPA.4 Abdominal vibration therapy can alleviate T2DM symptoms and dropped the level of FBG and the activity of HPA. And further research the mechanism of abdominal vibration therapy’s effect on T2DM is needed.
