Objective:Hypertension is a common and frequently-occurring cardiovascular disease, with a rising incidence and prevalence in the elderly. Considering the increasing proportion of old age among our society, the future work should be focused on the health care and prevention of age related disease. It’s a duel medical and social task to control blood pressure safely and effectively, alleviate the clinical symptoms, reduce end-organ damage and finally promote the quality of life. Previous results have shown that integrated Chinese and western could lower blood pressure persistently and slowly, narrow pulse pressure and prevent end-organ damage. It is better than single western treatment from both short-term efficacy and long-term benefits. To summarize the State Medical Master Li Furen’s medication characteristics for senile hypertension, Li Furen Catholic in the treatment of elderly patients with vertigo medical records collection, his cases for treating elderly hypertension were collected and analyzed.Method:Eligible medical treatment record were collected and analyzed manually or with statistical software.1. Medical treatment record:State Medical Master Li Furen diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s medical records met the inclusion criteria in the Beijing Hospital patient medical records library were collected.2. Data standardization project entry:through the Microsoft Office 2007, a summary of the four diagnostic methods in the treatment process, syndrome differentiation, the law governing prescription unified converted into data available for analysis, and ultimately through the manual analysis and statistical software SPSS 1.3 joint data analysis, concluded that reference.3. The result:the manual data analysis and system analysis results also show the corresponding reference each other, arrive at a final statistical results and conclusions, delivered Li Lao and his disciples, to seek their approval.Results:The combination of data analysis and manual statistical analysis of results:106 patient medical records TCM syndromes:hyperactivity of liver yang, Liver and kidney yin deficiency, vacuity wind stirring internally, Spleen and kidney deficiency, yin deficiency, blood deficiency, disturbing upward of wind and fire. The most commonly used prescription except self-made formulas are:tianma gouteng yin,sheng mai Powder, qiju dihuang pills, suanzaoren decoction, duhuo jisheng Decoction, sanren decoction, banxia baizhu tianma decoction. The most commonly used herbs in these prescriptions are:fructus lycii> rhizoma gastrodiae,flos chrysanthemi indici,radix salviae miltiorrhizae,radix glycyrrhizae,radix puerariae,poria cum ligno hospite,rhizoma chuanxiong,Poria,rhizoma acori tatarinowii,rhizoma anemarrhenae,fructus tribuli,ramulus uncariae cum uncis,herba dendrobii. And the relationship between two herbs and their combination were investigated.Conclusion:By analyzing the medical records of Li which were further consolidated by consulting Li’s Catholic disciple ZHang Jian,his typical treating methods for senile hypertension were summarized in four:1.Nourshing yin to suppress hyperactive yang methods is commonly applied.2.Strengthening healthy energy is a basic therapeutic principle.3.Nourishing Yin for relieving restlessness and promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis are adjunct therapeutic methods.4. Violent and poisonous herbs were carefully used.
