A Study On The Wet Pens In Chinese Freehand Flower - And - Bird Paintings

“Wet pen” is a thorough research on the characteristics of artworks based on pen and ink. This paper, from the literaturecollection of Chinese ancient calligraphy and paintings, illustratesthe production and development process of “wet pen” andgeneralizes the artistic characteristics shown in recent and modernfamous artists’ art works by “wet pen”. Furthermore, this paperbriefly summarizes the development and growth of “wet pen” underthe influence of philosophical ideas of “wet pen” and analyzes andcomments all sorts of relations of “wet pen” and many expressionforms in the works. In the process of writing the paper, the authormakes an attempt to analyze and summarize the “wet pen” artfeatures and art effects completely. By generalizing this theory andexpressing the personal feelings, the author tries to conclude theacademic study of “wet pen”, so as to promote the development ofChinese impressionistic flower and bird paintings.
