Children’s fiction has a pivotal role in the development of children’s literature since the new period. This paper selects the constructed boy images as an entry point, so as to investigate the changes of the identities of boy images since the new period and the dynamic connotation and significance of them. Besides, this paper investigates the interactions between boy images in the children’s fiction of the new period and the views of people on children’s literature; moreover, this paper researches the significance of the evolution of aesthetics on children’s literature. This paper analyzes the boy images in the children’s fiction of the new period and measures artistic characteristics and values and shortcomings, in order to promote the development of the creation and the research of Chinese children’s fiction.The preface part mainly deals with the definition of the subject of this paper and the definition of "children’s fiction"; demonstrates the values and significance of selecting boy images as the entry point; summarizes the research status of boy images in the children’s fiction of the new period. Chapter one teases out the boy images in the Chinese children’s fiction since the May fourth movement and mainly analyzes the boy images in three different historical contexts:the context of the enlightenment, the context of politics and multiple open sights; summarizes the whole history of the boy images in the children’s fiction; exhumes the identities and the characteristics of boy images in specific historical period. Chapter two analyzes the multi-construction of the boy images of the writers in the new period, mainly about three types:boy images under suffering, rebellious boy images and emotional boy images and Characteristics and combine boys outlined text image.
