Hong Sheng is a famous dramatist and poet in the early Qing Dynasty. He is famous for "Palace of Eternal Youth" in drama aspect, he and Kong Shangren were called "Nan Hong Bei Kong".His achievement is high and over seven hundred unique poems have been preserved. Currently the research of his poems and "Palace of Eternal Youth" have achieved certain results, but academia paid little attention to zaju "the Four Beauties", also there isn’t any book to expound the relationship between poetry and drama specially. As a matter of fact, there are a number of inner links among author’s works, it reflects Refined and Popular Literature influence each other. At the same time, poetry and drama show each different style in genre field. This article is based on the existing text of works, combining his life experiences, explores the relationship of mutual verification and differences between poetry and drama by using the research methods of comparison, analysis and induction.This article mainly discusses the following aspects:The first chapter combined the ideological content of analysis between poetry and drama to explore the Interactive and comparative aspects of the creative mentality, It includes six aspects: A sense of home country’s rise and fall which intertwined with the individual destiny; The ideology of Baojhong and banished evil Confucian loyalty and filial piety, the ideology of humanitarian against the separatist war; pay attention to the reality, show up the dissatisfaction among the upper class struggle and the sympathy for poor people; Contradictory mentality of trading off and taking turns between mundane and transcedental; With the help of a religion, the confess mentality of seeking to redeem himself; The advocating of happy love and happy marriage.The second chapter studies imagery interact and comparison between poetry and drama from the aspect of dream imagery, imagery of the moon, sorrowful melancholy imagery.The third chapter studies the connections and differences from the aspect of language art between poetry and drama. From formal aspect,also adherence to art of composition and both the words and pronunciation are beautiful, especially the application of reiterative locution is originality.The fourth chapter analyze practice situations of preface, poetry event, evaluation of opera and his creation, summarized same literature and art idea between poetry and drama from the aspect of "writings are for conveying truth, reflect the reality","language is gentle and meaningful, pursue elegant style and content","advocates temperament, the essence is true" "against imitation, pursue innovation".The conclusion integrate full text, further analyze causes and manifestation of painful style of his poetry and drama works.
