On The Ecological Significance Of The Landscape In Korea

Landscape sijo is an important type of ancient Korean Mandarin poetry "sijo", and it had a profound impact to the development of the ancient Korean Mandarin literature. Through the analysis of the landscape sijo’s representative writers and works, this paper intends to explore their ideological and cultural origins, and explore the simple ecological ideology contains in them. Therefore, the ecological significance of landscape sijo can be revealed.Firstly, landscape sijo describes the landscape hermit life of away from secular, being contented in poverty and devoted to things spiritual and back to nature, and absorbs Taoism of "harmony with nature" and "clear, calm and no action", Confucianism of "paying attention to one’s own moral uplift without thought of others" and Buddhist thought of meditation without desire. Besides, it reflects the ecological ideology of returning to nature, poetic dwellingSecondly, landscape sijo mixes man with the natural world to reach the realm of" identity of object and self", which has influence from Taoism of "Xujing" and "Shensi" and Confucianism of "noble men should endow nature with the value of beauty by comparing morals " and Buddhist thought of sudden enlightenment and quiet and deserted, reflecting the ecological ideology of integration of nature and natural sentiment.Thirdly, landscape sijo embodies harmony and unity of the human spirit and the natural world, which contains Taoism of the harmony between man and nature and Confucianism of "heaven is the father and earth is the mother","people are my brothers and all things are my kinds " and Buddhist thought of everyone is equal, and it reflects Eco-holistic view of the harmony between man and nature, and this is important to modern society to get rid of anthropocentrism and achieve harmony between man and nature.Landscape sijo contains a wealth of ecological ideology, which enriches the connotation of ecological literature and has certain reference on current ecological civilization construction.
