The Commercial Press emerged as the times require,it have been rising anddevlopping, and eventually became the largest private publishing organization in thelate Qing dynasty.There was a sharp change of the fiction concepts and a largenumber of fiction were translated in the late Qing Dynasty.At that time the printingtechnology was introduced to Chinese and with this trends,the Commercial Presswhich was born in Shanghai,began to print and translate novels and,no matterquantity or quality it have reached the highest level.As a company which aimed tosupport education and develop the commercial culture, the Commercial Press hasbeyond the meaning of existence itself in special historical background, it evenbecame a particular cultural organization where made its own efforts andcontributions in gathering the talents and fostering the novelist groups.The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part describes the causes of thisarticle and relevant research status both here and abroad, as well as the history ofthe Commercial Press. The first chapter introduces in details about the background ofthe Commercial Press、the published technology、the special region, and thepubbished concept of the company. The second chapter analyzes the novelpublication of the Commercial Press. It divide into three sections according to thenovel published situation of the Commercial Press. It talks about the magazinespublished by the Commercial Press and something about the novel situation.Searching for several magazines of the Commerial Presss published novels at first,andmaking an introduction of the novels press situation.Then according to the existingdata,making a detailed list about the Commercial Press published monographsfiction.Finally,it is an introdution of the novel series from the Commercial Press. Thethird chapter introduces the Commercial Presss fiction writers, translators andeditors. And found a "fiction" a unique initiative to attract readers by organizing anovel club which prompted the reader into the authors interesting cases. Thefourth chapter analyzes the distribution and promotion of the novel, including avariety of advertising, the complete structure of the issue. It restores the Commercial Press Novels of issue and subject to readers of historical conditions.The Commercial Press published a large number of novels and establishedinterrelated magazines in the late Qing Dynasty, which had taken up the absoluteprevilige in the current press circle in the same period. In the1920s The CommercialPress has formed a kind of unique literary gathering function, gathering a lot offamous writers and literary groups at that time.In this way, it beyond the privateenterprises significance and have an important significance in the pubishment of thenovel in late Qing Dynasty.
