So lots of scholars regarded He Shoji as a tablet calligrapher.Thereis no doubt that He Shoji benefits a lot from the north tablet and he has played a huge role inBeiXue, but which is not his most important contribution. He kept clear mind about thedrawbacks of TieXue when most calligraphers were against to that. He "take the essence, discardthe dregsâ€, thus he successfully carried forward the advantages about TieXue.With the rapid development of BeiXue, He Shaoji didn’t blindly worship the calligraphertablet. He pursuit of the beauty of neutralization and kept away from the wild works in BeiXue.He Shaoji could integrate Bei and Tie due to he found the keys which were called“Heritagepointsâ€. In-depth research of He Shaoji, we found that his special written way–“Back to thewrist method†which was one most important factors of success. With all this elements, HeShaoji has successfully integrated Beiand Tie and became an unique calligrapher of Qingdynasty.The thesis tries to expatiate meticulously and comprehensively on He Shoji’s calligraphyorigin, the practice of calligraphy, art life and impacts. Through the article, we can see hiserudition, the spirit of innovation and so on. From those, we could find He Shoji’s uniqueinsights in Bei and Tie. In addition, the thesis states He Shoji’s special insights in the ethos of“advocating BeiXue, against the TieXue†which were put forward by RuanYuan, Bao Shichenand Kang Youwei. In the last, I analyze He Shoji’s success in calligraphy and find someimportant factors and conclude the meaning of combining the Bei and Tie. In my opinion, this isimportant for the gallery of mid—Qing Dynasty and us in today who lean calligraphy. |
