With the development of TV media, the TV entertainment programs emerge rapidly andgradually grow up. The titles, as the symbol of the programs, can play an important role toattract people’s attention. The titles which show distinctive features in the language ontology,rhetorical art and naming characteristics, have an unique research value. The creation of thepaper is based on the detailed statistics of the TV entertainment program titles on the mainland,Hong Kong, Taiwan in the past two years. The body of the paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter makes a definition of Chinese TV entertainment program and scrutinizesthe current research status in this field. Furthermore, briefly introduces the significance and theinnovation of the paper and narrates the corpus sources and research methods.Chapter two analyzes the number of syllables, the beat match, words characteristics, highfrequency words, the language unit and syntactic structure of the TV entertainment programtitles by adopting the method of statistics and the theory of relevant linguistics. TV programtitles prefer quadrisyllabic and pentasyllabic word group. The use of words in the titles embodythe great openness. Grammatical structure makes more use of joint structure andsubject-predicate structure.Chapter three makes all analysis on the negative rhetoric phenomenon and the positiverhetoric measures in the TV entertainment program titles. In terms of positive rhetoric, thepaper comprehensively analyzes the rhetorical devices in the program titles.In terms of negativerhetoric, the paper makes a thorough analysis of the words and sentences. The TV entertainmentprogram titles are full of the applications of rhetoric art.Chapter four analyzes the naming characteristics of the TV entertainment program titles.From voice, lexical, semantic and grammar four aspects to analyze, the alliteration, assonanceand harmonics on voice, words mold and loanwords on words, the synonym and antonymcombination on semantics, supernormal collocation and inverted order on grammar, thesecharacteristics fully illustrate the diversity of naming the TV entertainment program titles.Chapter five discusses the current problems of the TV entertainment program titles andcomes up with the method of standardization. The paper puts forward some constructivestrategies to the future development of Chinese TV entertainment program titles. Moreover, thechapter points out that innovation can keep the lasting vitality of the TV entertainment programtitles.The sixth chapter makes a summary of the whole paper, and forecasts the futuredevelopment of Chinese TV entertainment program titles. All in all, this paper attempts to make a thorough research on Chinese TV entertainmentprogram titles to make people understand the language features, rhetoric art, namingcharacteristics, standardized method and the innovation means, which can make a slimcontribution for future research and development.
