This report begins with stating the importance of discussing how to interpret abstract financial concepts via TV documentary. Finance is a highly professional and abstract subject, while television is one of the most popular and visualized media. Therefore how to bridge the rift between them two in a proper way by TV documentary in order to get ideal propagation effectis the theoretical value of this report. Besides, this report is endowed with practical value because of the limitation of previous study of this field as well as the urgency to popularize necessary financial knowledge in China at the moment. Next the writer made a brief analysis on the elements that constitute the kind of financial TV documentary that were studied in this report. And a shortintroduction about the history and the current situation of financial TV documentary in China was followed after that.In the second part, based on the theoretical analysis in the previous part, the writer went back to basics, with very solid study about the example ducumentaries. After explaining the reasons by which I chose the two TV documentaries:Wall Street, produced by CCTV, and The Golden Age, produced by CBN as my examples in this report, I made a close study of these two documentaries from four aspects-episodes division, vision pictures, scene and post-sound-making. I presented a detailed study by elaborating specific parts in the documentaries and interviewing documentary producers, from which the readers can see that Chinese financial TV documentary is based on truth, well-structured with clear logic and various technical methods to interpret financial concepts. But inevitably, it has its weakness.The third part is mainly a conclusion. In this part the writer tried to draw efficient experience about the making of financial TV documentary from the analysis of the second part. The writer also brought up her own opinion on the current predicament of financial TV documentary.
