Split And Coincidence: The Study Of Professional Discourse In News Awards

As discourse analysis is paid more attention by Journalism&Mass Communication scholars, the researches with discourse of news industry gradually become more. But few scholars did research on news prize with method of discourse analysis. Otherwise, China News Prize usually was viewed as the only representative of China’s view of the news while the complexity of change that journalism of China has gone with was neglected. I will try to do some research on news prize using method of Foucault’s archaeology of knowledge in order to have a restricted view of China’s news industry. Specifically, I will analyze the discourse of China News Prize and Southern Weekly News Prize through three aspects, that is the formation of concept, enunciative modalities, strategies. Of three aspects, the analysis of formation of concept will be the main content of this article. I hold the opinion that the discourse of Party newspaper and that of journalistic professionalism coexist and intertwine in our news industry. This remind us that researchers should not neglect the dedoublement as well as redoublement. What’s more, as a valuable method of discourse analysis, Foucault’s archaeology of knowledge and the subjectivity need scholars continue to research on more deeply, especially in the field of Journalism&Mass Communication.
