In the past, the IQ occupied a very important position in the success of thetheory, Teachers and parents often concerned with the childs’ skills andknowledge,and ignored the feeling and emotional experience of chileds’ in theprocess of obtaining. Ultimately, the students get high scores but cannot adapt tothe changeable social environment.Afterward, scholars proposed the concept of emotional intelligence, it proved afact: beyond human intelligence,there are anothere intelligence plaed a key role tocuccess. Since the1990s, emotional intelligence attaract attention by majority ofscholars. Organize the literature found that most of the previous studies to explorethe theory of emotional intelligence and proposed that emotional intelligence canbe enhanced through training. Therefore, in this study, researcher committed toexplore the effective ways to enhance the emotional intelligence of collegestudents, by intervention study,find out the impact that emotional intelligence onsocial adaptation.In the study, based on the theory of emotional intelligence about Mayer andSalovey1990, emotional intelligence intervention programs were designed usingtwo different theories of psychology consulting: Ellis’s rational emotive therapyand Meichenbaum’s cognition and behavioral therapy. The purpose is to comparethe effect of two interventions, test exactly which methods can best enhanceemotional intelligence, the author strive to find an effective way to enhance theemotional intelligence of college studentsConclusions are as follows:The first conclusion:There is a significant positive correlation between collegestudents’ emotional intelligence and social adaptation scores and factors’ scores. Inthe further regression analysis found that three factors of emotional intelligenceinto the regression equation to predict social adaptation, namely: the extent of theproblem of emotional control, emotional ability to promote thinking, assessmentand perception of emotional expression.The second conclusion:After the intervention of emotional intelligence,it found that there is significantly fifferent between the experimental group and the controlgroup test scores,which indicated that rational emotive therapy played a role toenhance the emotional intelligence and the role of social adaptation.The third conclusion: After the intervention of emotional intelligence,it foundthat there is significantly fifferent between the experimental group and the controlgroup test scores,which indicated that Meichenbaum’s cognition and behavioraltherapy played a role to enhance the emotional intelligence and the role of socialadaptation.The fourth conclusion: Compared the posttest scores of experimental group withthe control group,the results prove that scores in the experimental group wassignificantly higher, indicating an effective intervention for emotional intelligence.The effect between rational emotive therapy and Meichenbaum’s cognitivebehavior therapy was not significant, the average score from the point of view,cognitive behavior therapy group slightly better than rational emotive therapygroup.
