| To explore the effects of stress and coping style on two different sources of thestudents’ mental health in secondary vocational school, the research took YunnanChemical school students as an example. Two study’s instrument was employed inthe paper: the revised checklist of life stress of secondary school students and copingstyle scale (by Xiao Jihua). We tested500secondary school students, eliminatedinvalid questionnaire, and finally got432valid questionnaire, the rate of recoverywas86.4%. Purpose:(1) Having a better understanding of two different students’pressure and coping style in secondary vocational school and to provide somereference for instructors.(2) Analyzing the factors on pressure of secondary schoolstudents, for the two groups, the difference between influence factors was aimed atalleviating the pressure of secondary school students, and providing theoreticalsupport and practical guide to improve the level of mental health..The method of this survey is mainly questionnaire. First, we use factor analyzeto find out the life stressor. Second, descriptive statistics and compare means wereused to investigate the characteristic of life stress and coping style.Finally,correlation supports the hypotheses about relationship of life stress and coping style.After processing the data, draw the following conclusion:(1) The revised checklisthas good reliability and validity, and two different students’ life stress in thesecondary vocational school consist of seven factors: academic achievement,interpersonal relationship, life change and environment, employment and career,income level, family fairs, romance relationship;(2)There is difference betweenjunior high school graduates’ and high school graduates’ total stress and differentfactor;(3) In demographic variable, there is difference between graduates’ of juniorsecondary school and high school graduates’ total stress and different factor;(4)There is difference between graduates’ of junior secondary school and high schoolgraduates’ coping style, and high school graduates than the junior high schoolstudents with more positive.Through correlation analysis of life stress and coping style, we can draw thefollowing conclusions: from the overall stress, graduation of junior high school students tend to adopt the fantasy and self-condemn to relieve the pressure, and highschool students is just the opposite, often adopt solving-problem and seeking-help torelieve pressure. In short, the pressure response, high school students are taken toresolve the problem, reasonable, help more positive way, while the junior highschool students is the fantasy, self-condemn, avoidance, high school students in theability to cope with stress is obviously higher than that of junior middle schoolstudents, the way to deal with a more positive and rational. |
