A Study On The Image Of The Kuomintang 's Secretaries In Mainland China Since 2005

As carriers of TV series, the character is the core mission of TV series’ creation. The key to the success of TV series is the character’s building, which is also an important indicator of the evaluation. Character building is especially important for spy TV series. During such a long development, they have created numerous classical characters, such as glamorous female agents, heroic underground workers. The KMT agents are the typical characters in spy TV series. However, in the early ones, almost all of them were characterized as ugly and cunning villains. Until to April 2005, Lien Chan’s visit to mainland China, which was a significant meeting between the KMT and CPC’s top leaders after a lapse of 60 years, promoted the cross-strait development peacefully. This signal is also reflected in the TV series. More and more research about the KMT image has done after this year. Although we can foresee the final result of the KMT agents in the Spy dramas, we still should think about the building process, the reasons behind this change, the meaning of the change. These are the issues to be discussed in this paper.Through literature research method, this paper reviews and sorts out the relevant theoretical analysis and theoretical results. Based on the reviews, the spy TV series that won the Chinese TV Golden Eagle Award and the Chinese TV Flying Award after 2005, the winner of Magnolia Award- "Broken Thorn" and "All Quiet in Beijing"-the hit spy wars drama in 2014 are selected to be the research targets. This paper take those ten spy TV series and the image of the KMT agents as represents to study from the high, medium and low levels. It also explores the deep political, economic and socio-cultural reasons to build the KMT spy since 2005. This study is also intended to provide a reference for a benign development and a good interaction of cross-strait culture.
