This paper reviewed the 60-year history of art education for international students in Central academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), traced its track with first hand data, and found out 4 typical trends as followed, from making international friends to spreading Chinese culture, from differential treatment to convergence, from self-improvement to making a living, and from study in China to study in CAFA’s oversea campus. Then, it referred to the history of China’s education for international students, analyzed the challenges and opportunities facing the complex international situation, listed the favorable policies of national and local government and negative factors. At last, it provided some solutions of how to improve CAFA’s art education of international students, which included accelerating prior course, recruiting foreign students in CAFA’s attached high school, researching the feasibility of running school abroad and distance education based on the Internet, setting up the internship system and international alumni association, and so on. The paper tried to offer creative, feasible and constructive solutions for international students’art education of CAFA, so as to make it the best art school in the world.
