A Study On The Affix Of Linyi Dialect In Shandong Province

The Shandong dialect has three main categories: the official language of Jiaoliao, Jilu, and Zhongyuan. It is also divided into two areas: east and west. The east area includes Donglai and Dongwei while the west area includes Xiqi and Xilu. The Linyi dialect locates at the transition area of Dongwei and Xilu, and can be found in both areas. The Xilu area includes Lanshan, Hedong, Luozhuang, Feixian, Lanling, Linshu, Pingyi, and Tancheng while Yishui, Yinan, Junan, Mengyin belongs to Dongwei area. The dialect of some counties in the north area of Linyi, in which are connected with Xiqi, also has characteristics from Xiqi. It is not hard to be found from above that the complexity of the Linyi dialect is directly caused by the special geographical location, which is not commonly seen in other parts of Shandong.Chinese affix is an attributive, which virtualizes the original meaning, has the function of apperception, and is attached to the etyma in the affixation incorporating language. The Linyi dialect contains lots of affixes, part of which are the same as those from Mandarin. Since the Linyi dialect is only used in limited areas, most of the affixes of it have very strong regionalism, which can be found from the locally special meanings and usage of the affixes in the Linyi dialect. It has relatively high research value to find out the rule and characteristic of the word formation of affix, and explore the reason and mechanism of the derivative of affix.This paper studies the affix in Linyi dialect by integrating synchronic and diachronic, description and explanation, deduction and induction based on local research, data collection and statistics analysis. The paper shows the system, general view, and direction of development of the affix in Linyi dialect. It starts from the facts of language, explores the grammatical mechanism of the development of affix in Linyi dialect.The paper contains five parts. The first part is introduction, which introduces the general condition and local characteristic of dialect of Linyi. It also talks about the current condition of research on Chinese affix and affix of Linyi dialect, research value and resource of language materials. The second part is prefix and infix, which introduces the usage of “Tou”, “Dang”, “Ba”, “Er”, “Da”, “Le” and “Bula”. The third part is suffix of Linyi dialect, which mainly discusses the rule of word formation of suffix of noun, including “Tou”, “Zi”, “Han”, and “Ba”; suffix of verb, including “Ba”, “Da”, “La”, “Hu”, and “Me”; and suffix of adjective, including “Ba”, “Hu”, “Dekeng”, “Dehong”, “Le AB”, “Bu(C) D”. The fourth part is grammatical mechanism of the development of affix in Linyi dialect. The last part is summary, which summarizes the rule of word formation for affix of Linyi dialect, characteristics, and deficiency of this paper.
