A Study On The Evolution Of Social Dance And Its Creation

From the first community that human established-- the primitive society, dance has existed with this community named as ‘social’ as the precondition, dance in the primitive society period is the earliest social dance. In 1987, after the official definition of "social dance", mass dance activities have strong vitality, development and creation of social dance was unprecedented prosperity. Social dance is a consciousness of social and cultural phenomenon, its creation along with the life and production activities of people, is for the masses and spiritual needs the active participation of artistic practice. Social dance creation is a kind of aesthetic production that based on people’s understanding, recognition and emotion of objective things of the world, is a tool for expression of the spiritual world that based on human activities, to reflect the social culture with the body shape, is a way of materializing peoples’ spiritual world.This paper takes the social dance and creative problem as the research object, mainly divided into three parts to carry on the elaboration and analysis:The first part: from the view of social dance with respect of its cultural phenomenon, expounds the origin, form factors and classifications of social dance concept, in order to give readers a clear understanding of social dance. At the same time, take the national traditional culture, urban popular culture, public standard culture as the breakthrough point, providing a in-depth analysis of the cultural characteristics of social dance, summed up the impact of communication era, the social environment and the new media to social dance.The second part: by analyzing from the following four aspects, material of dance, movement vocabulary, dance image, aesthetic features, to make readers a lucid understanding of social dance. Looking through the development of social dance, the continuation of the local traditional folk dance, folk dance and city culture fusion, exotic and native dance, dance of the absorption and reference, greatly enriched the social dance creation material. At the same time, the social dance vocabulary changes from a "paradigm", "model" to "free", "casual" update. It returns to public, the shape of the "civilian commoner" figure connects closer to the public, truly reflects the mass character and civilian of social dance. Today’s social dance aesthetic concept has been switched from the "radical" to "harmonious", this kind of "ShangHe’’ concept affects today’s social dance creation, makes it become a kind of harmonious beauty as the cultural identity of the aesthetic activities.The third part: summarize the stable characteristics of social dance creation during its development with respect of its evolution, explore the problem of the creation of social dance during its development.
