The paper aims to study earthenware craft of WanYao in Tengchong country of Yunnan Province. Wan Yao ceramics has been a kind of cottage industry. Potters usually are man of the Han nationality. They can finish all the work from choice of clay to firing without clear division of labor. As the local people’s daily necessities, earthenware process on the basis of pottery whell cooperatively with patting body and using many decorative techniques. They fire earthenware in a chamber dragon kiln. After glazing, most of the earthenware are put in the kiln within saggar or made stackable. Green white glaze and brown glaze are given priority to apply to dry bisque. Plenty of products are wholesaled by dealers. Due to the relatively remote geographical environment and the multi-ethnic mixed cultural environment, the traditional life custom of WanYao and surrounding areas can be retained, focusing on food culture and family culture of WanYao. On the basis of these, the earthenware process preserved up to now.Need is the reason of exist.
