Today, human society has entered the era of electronic media. Electronic media play an important role in people’s daily life, such as film, television, mobile phone, Internet and so on. Contemporary children are affected by the electronic media culture, and great changes have taken place in their childhood. So children’s literature which is closely related to childhood has changed a lot. As to the creation of children’s literature, writers are influenced by consumerism and entertainment, so their writing tend to be commercial, stylized and entertaining; As to the audience of children’s literature, the children’s reading tendency is video, utilitarian and grown-up. For these changes, we should treat it in a dialectical way: on the one hand, we should admit that it is an irreversible trend of development of children’s literature, and it also contains positive factors; On the other hand, we must be on constant alert for that children’s literature will be gripped by consumerism and entertainment, and lose precious literary in its process of development.How to prevent children’s literature losing its way in the age of electronic media is a new and significant subject. This thesis takes "children standard" as foothold, and consider this view of children could solve some problems of children’s literature from the root. The "children standard" this thesis advocates is derived from the "children standard" of the May 4th movement, but there are some differences between them. The new "children standard" emphasizes the integration of children’s and adult’s lives, so it closes the old one’s gap that isolating children’s world from adult’s world. The new contemporary "children standard" which is given the new meaning has more theoretical and directed significance. Under its guidance, the whole society should put children in the first place, give them media literacy education, making them understand electronic media better,use it properly and reshaping their horizon of expectation. Writers should put children in the first place, satisfy their mental need including the longing for love, dream and game. So writers will create outstanding works filled with affection, imagination and memorable joy. Critics should put children in the first place. On the one hand, they should follow the trend, renew theoretical discourse, use cross-culture and cross-subjects methods to study children’s literature; On the other hand, they should resist the invasion of the commercial tide, guard their independent critical character and insist on using the aesthetic criticism standard. Creation and criticism are together, so the writers and critics should establish the "children standard", carry out the good interaction between creation and criticism. Then more and more outstanding works will be created, and the harmonious development road of children’s literature will be opened.
