A Study On The Overlapping Form Of The Original Dialect In

Zhenyuan County is located in loess plateau area of east Gansu province, southwest of the city Qingyang, with a total area of about 3760 square kilometers. It is adjacent to Xifeng District of Qingyang City in the east, Kongtong district of Pingliang city in the west, Pengyang County of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in the north, Jingchuan County of Pingliang city in the south. Zhenyuan County has 8 towns and 11 countrysides, which are divided into "Plateau areas" and "Mountain areas" according to the terrain difference. The internal differences of Zhenyuan dialect belongs to qinlong area, Zhongyuan Mandarin Chinese. It has 24 consonants (including zero initial),34 finals and four tones.The reduplication phenomenon is one of the most important grammar means in Chinese language. Professor Li Jinxi first proposed the concept "duplication" in 1924. it has been studying for more than 80 years by many linguists. The research and analysis of the duplication phenomenon on modern Chinese linguistics has been very comprehensive and thorough. Compared with Mandarin Chinese, the duplication phenomenon in dialects are more flexible and complex. And there are many scholars and experts made lots of study on duplication phenomenon in dialects.In this paper, the author makes her mother tougue Zhenyuan dialect as the research object to describe the duplication phenomenon in Zhenyuan dialect by doing lots of field work and investigation. She describes the reduplication of nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, numerals, measure words, pronouns and onomatopoeia in Zhenyuan dialect in this paper. She hopes that this comprehensive description can reveal the characteristics of Zhenyuan dialect and its reduplication forms and grammatical function and contribute to Zhenyuan dialect grammar study, which also can make some contribution to Qinlong dialect and the Northwest dialect.This paper consists of seven chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which summarized the research status of reduplication phenomenon in Chinese linguistics study. It also introduces the history and geography of Zhenyuan County, the phonetic system of Zhenyuan dialect.The second chapter is the study of noun reduplication. It describs the structures and grammatical function of AA form, AAB form, ABB form and ABBC form etc. They are all based on the field surveys.The third chapter is the adjective reduplication research. It describs the structures and grammatical function of AA form, ABB form and so on.The fourth chapter is the adverbial reduplication research.Field survey results described the structure and grammatical function of AA form and ABB form etc.The fifth chapter is the verb reduplication research which is based on the results of field investigation. It describes the structure and grammar function of A A form, ABB form. AABB form and so on.The sixth chapter is the reserch on reduplication of other words which including the the numerals of AA form, measure words of AA form, onomatopoeic words of AA form and demonstrative pronouns.The seventh chapter is the conclusion. Reduplication words of Zhenyuan dialect are more abundant and their grammatical function is more complex compared with Mandarin Chinese.
