Today, the study on Soseki Natsume has been a famous school in Japan and numerous concrete and solid researches have been achieved for Japanese scholars have always been paying attention to textual analysis and empirical study. However, the earliest study in China on Soseki Natsume could date back to the translation and introduction of his early writings by Lu Xun. Writings that Lu Xun translated mainly were those of his early works with “Ordinary features†which were of great research significance as well.Speaking of the “Yoyu theoryâ€, “Teikai shumi†created by Soseki Natsume can never be ignored either. Even so, researches on his creative method of “Teikai shumiâ€are not quite many, let alone the expression form and analysis of “Teikai shumi†by means of narratology, an objective narrative theory. In view of this, this paper aims to study “Yoyu theory†created by Soseki Natsume from a new perspective and explores the exact expression form of “Teikai shumi†in his works. This paper has five parts and analyzes and studies “Teikai shumi†from specific works by using Western narratology as its methodology. Chapter I mainly introduces the research background and motivation, research content and significance, reviews previous achievements and comes up with the argument based on this. Chapter II,firstly describes the historic background and definition of "Teikai shumi" and then by using narratology, analyzes and explores I Am A Cat, maiden work of Soseki Natsume, summarizing the specific features of "Teikai shumi" in this work. Likewise, chapter III analyzes Kusamakura and Botchan, another early two works of Soseki Natsume by means of narratology and concludes the stylistic feature of "Teikai shumi"; besides,The true story of Ah Q, one representative of Lu Xun is compared with these twoworks in this chapter so as to describe the influence of this creative method on Lu Xun’ s works. Based on this, chapter IV conducts a further study on Soseki Natsume’s later works. Soseki Natsume, with his early works revealing the theory of “Yoyu theoryâ€, changes a lot on the creative method in his later works after being a professional writer in Asahi Shimbun. First of all, from the narrative perspective, his later works mainly describes events with third-person internal perspective; secondly, his later works have relatively complete story structure and make the story attractive with more ups and downs by means of skillful arrangement of word time and story space. Analysis of the first four chapters suggests that "Teikai shumi" is far more than an artistic effects; it is also a creative method. Finally, the conclusion is drawn in chapter V. "Teikai shumi", different from the traditional modern novels, reveals the slow plot progress from both narrative perspective and space arrangement, and makes readers concentrate for longer time on the “certain fun†intended to convey by the author. Even if is to use the firs-person internal perspective, the firs-person internal perspective that used in early works of Soseki Natsume existed in Slow arrangement of space and time, the narrator or hero will make their viewpoint stay in an event, then take a look, or criticism with “Yoyuâ€. In a nutshell, "Teikai shumi" is not only a plot process problem; it is more reflects the unique creation of Soseki Natsume with the linkage of perspective. |
