Liao Dynasty With A Study

This paper intends to take six belts excavated from Liao Chengguogongzhu Mu as examples and main research objects,which are preserved well and recovered easily. These six belts belong to different kinds of belts, which are composed of various ornaments of belt, such as Die Xie Belt. According to them, we can anew recognize and analyze the remains of belt in the tomb of Liao dynasty from the view of composition, material and technology. One piece of belts combining with other belt buried in the tomb may express abundant meanings, such as gender, nation, rank and so on,. Meanwhile, we can discover the specialty of Liao Dynasty’s belt, by contrasting with belts in Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties. Communications between different countries are easily found and have a far-reaching effect on mutual culture. Actually, belts are not only used in daily life, but also carry multiple implications about culture,politics, even ethnic identity.
