| The inverse morphemes word pairs, also known as heterotopic word,, inverted word, word order reversed disyllable, etc. They are a kind of special existence in Chinese vocabulary.Developing from ancient Chinese to today, it has a strong vitality. In order to research further, this thesis selects the inverse morphemes word pairs in < modern Chinese Dictionary>(Sixth Edition),in which the words are strong normative and have high popularity, representative significance and research value. These words have obvious characteristics in the structure. If A and B representing each morpheme, this kind of words can be regarded as AB and BA type words. In other words, their characteristics are the same morpheme, reciprocal word order, double syllables. By collating this kind of words in <modern Chinese dictionary>(Sixth Edition) and analyzing its internal structure, this paper presents a professional definition of this kind of words—inverse morphemes word pairs, namely the same morpheme, reciprocal word order, disyllabic compound words.Chapter One introduces research background, research methodology and research objectives.Cen Shifu’s theory he published in Chinese knowledge in 1956, led us into this field. And until now, in just 60 years, it has made great progress in research quantum, research field, research quality and research methodology.Chapter Two gives the definition of inverse morphemes word pair. Because of the differences of definition in inverse morphemes word pair, this thesis will give a professional definition of this kind of word through analyzing and integrating “order synonymâ€, “synonyms†and “wordâ€.Chapter Three categorizes the inverse morphemes word pairs according to their structures, morphological features and meanings, and tries to specify all the types of the inverse morphemes word pairs. It can be divided five types from the syntactic perspective: joint type, subject-predicate type,modifier-core type, verb-object type and complementary type. It can be divided into two cases to analyze the structure of inverse morphemes word pairs: isomorphic morphemes and heterogeneous morphemes. The isomorphic comprises of joint type, modifier-core type,verb-object type and complementary type, in which combined type accounts for the largest; the heterogeneous morphemes consists of nine types: joint--- modifier-core type, joint---subject-predicate type, joint--- verb-object type, joint--- supplement type, modifier-core---subject-predicate type, modifier-core--- subject-predicate type, modifier-core--- supplementary type, verb-object--- subject-predicate type and verb-object--- supplement type. From the perspective of the part of speech, the inverse morphemes word pairs contain inversemorphemes words with the same part of speech and inverse morphemes words not with the same part of speech. In the inverse morphemes words, A and B are the same part of speech. It contains seven types: n.-n. type, v.-v. type, adj.-adj. type, adv.-adv. type, prep.-prep. type, pron.-pron. type and multi-category--- multi-category. But in inverse morphemes words not with the same part of speech, A and B are not the same part of speech, or either of them is the multi-category words. It contains nine types: n.- v. type, v.- adj. type, n.- adv. type, n.- quan. type, v.-adj. type, v.- adv.type, v.- prep. type, adj.- adj. type, adj.- adv. type, and num.- quan. type. From the semantic perspective, the correlation between the inverse morphemes pairs is not consistent, they are the same, generally similar, or completely unrelated. According to the degree of the correlation, it can be divided into equal relationship, the relationship of mutual interpretation, combination relationship, inclusion relationship, correlation relationship and unrelated relationship. The correlation between equivalent relationship and the relationship of mutual interpretation and the correlation between combination relationship and inclusion relationship are obvious, which account for a large proportion and their part of speech is not the same. The unrelated relationship is a coincidence with larger difference in the meanings.Chapter Four analyzes the reason of widespread existence of this kind of word. Combined with the Peking University modern Chinese Corpus, analyzing the using frequency, we will give some suggestions about the standardization and some immature opinions for the revision of the modern Chinese dictionary. And its inheritance and development of the inverse morphemes word pair is the result of Chinese long-term development. And its development goes through the stages of the whole history of Chinese language. This thesis analyzes the reason of its strong vitality from the perspective of the evolution of Chinese vocabulary, dialect influence, the impact in specific historical period.According to frequency statistics of Peking University modern Chinese corpus, two inverse morphemes word pairs order in the same group have a big incongruity in the frequency of use.Faced with this phenomenon, we may doubt that the use of language should conform to the principle of economy. Therefore, it is necessary to regulate this linguistic phenomenon. Because of limited ability, some immature suggestions are proposed: Firstly, if the use frequency is low, or those words actually are not common in our daily life and only used in some special cases, therefore, it is acceptable to put the words with higher using frequency into the dictionary.Secondly, there is big difference in use frequency of this set of words. It is necessary to research at great length and explore its value if the frequency is too wide. If the use frequency is very low and the popularity is not high, so it is acceptable to delete from the < modern Chinese dictionary >,and only keep words with higher use frequency. |
