| In the introduction of my paper, I generalize and arrange academic ideas about Duns Scotus’s study. In the first chapter, I show my major motivation of this article, which is, Scotus’s philosophical theory contains modern meanings. In general, people think Husserl affect Heiddeger directly, especially in the respects of transcendentalism and intentionality. Nevertheless, most of scholars ignored the source of Duns Scotus’s influence on Heiddeger. The famous issue about "Haecceitas" and "Individuality" which was put forward by Scotus, not only inspired his work Sein und Zein, even live throughout his thought probably. Heiddeger thinks that the theory of individuality and univocityassociated with the former, can be the harbinger of the theory of "Subjectivity" in Idealism of German.Whereas the formation and argument of these two concepts "individuality" and "univocity"are far more complicated than Heiddeger imagined. Hence, in the second chapter of this paper, I begin with clarifying the divergence about the use of "univocity" Scotus himself by reference to Giorgio Pini’s article, and prove that this divergence came from Scotus’s different views of his Oxford period and Paris period. Then I will clarify that, Scotus’s theory of univocity is actually the result of extracting the theories of analogy and equivocity which existed since Aristotle untilAverroes. In the final of my second chapter, I’ll present the world view of the complex argument about univocity itself by reference to the revised edition of Scotus’sQuest ions on the Metaphysics of Aristotle and Ordinatio. In the third chapter, I make copious references to modern scholars’research results. In the first section of this chapter, I reveal that the concept "common nature" which came from Avicenna, its most contents were accepted by Scotus. Actually, if we want to get the "individuality", its relation with "common nature" and "universal" can’t be skipped. By using the Principle of Univocity, these three concepts above can be unified. In the second section, I show the arguments of individuality Scotus himself one by one, and present the core characters of "individuality". By reference to the articles of D. McGinley, Peter King and Todd Bates, I prove out the relative relationships of Scotus’s theory and Modern Metaphysics. |
