A Study On The Jade Articles Unearthed From The Western Han Dynasty

During the Western Han Dynasty, Henan, as the country’s economic and cultural center, gathered a large number of population. Prior to 1949, the research mainly focused on the comprehensive aspects of jade items,texture, production, detection of forgeries and the like. After 1949,The Western Han Dynasty jade research, mainly concentrated in four areas:Jade classification and ornamentation characteristic of the Western Han Dynasty; Mount Dangshan tomb groups unearthed jade; jade classification and ideological beliefs of the research. In April 1951,at the baisha tombs of yu zhou in Henan province, the earliest jades was found in the tombs of the Western Han dynasty in Henan province.After that, Henan area explored a large number of Han Dynasty tombs, which provides a new basis for the study of Western Han tombs unearthed jade.Based on the previously published results, from the following several aspects launches the elaboration:the discovery and distribution of Henan Western Han Dynasty jade; classification, decoration and the production process of unearthed jade; unearthed jade staging and age; Research on issues related to the Western Han Dynasty Henan jade.From which we can see:1, Henan, Western Han Dynasty unearthed jade mainly concentrated in the Mount Dangshan tomb group, and scattered in Nanyang, Sanmenxia Jiyuan and other places.2, jade used according to route divided jade garment and accessory jade, ceremonial jade, decorative jade, jade weapons, jade animals and other types of jade. To some extent, reflects the widespread use of jade in Henan Han Dynasty. 3, decoration features, the early Western Han Dynasty has obvious characteristics of the Warring States period, after the mid to form their own style. Exquisite ornamentation features, highlighting the development of Henan jade craft.4, use more weight, tube and line with tools to make jade.5, according to the characteristics and development of jade can be divided into early Western Han Dynasty, the mid and late 6, including research-related issues, the basic characteristics of unearthed jade, Henan Warring States unearthed jade relations, reflecting differences in the level of faith and conversion.By using the theory and methods of archaeological typology, cultural factors analysis method of comprehensive data analysis and research, as much as possible to improve understanding of the Western Han Dynasty tomb unearthed jade in Henan area.
