Schumann, who holds the beautiful and sweet music style, is one of the representative figures of the romantic music in the 19 th century. From 1834 to 1844, Schumann had a rich and happy life, and creation inspiration poured out, and this period was the mature and the peak of Schumann’s creation. “Piano Concerto in A Minor”was created in 1845, and the theme is distinct, the music is plain, the emotion is exquisite and abundant, and the skill is complete. It is one of the world’s five major piano concertos, and it is the important work for studying Schumann and also the piano music works.This thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction, which mainly explains the relative academic research, and is the academic foundation of the thesis.The second part is the foundation of this thesis. It mainly revolves around Schumann’s life, briefly describes his personal experience and his artistic form and style changes of life transition period. It also analyses and summarizes Schumann’s origin of creation and formation of style. At the same time, it also has a brief analysis of the creation structure characteristics of the “Piano Concerto in A Minor”.The third part is the key of this thesis, and it has a deep musical analysis of Schumann’s “Piano Concerto in A Minor”. The analysis of the three movements is from the music composition: the sonata form of the first movement, the trilogy type of the second movement, the lively allegro of the third movement and other different characteristics, etc.The fourth part is the important component. It summarizes and analyses the playing characteristics of the “Piano Concerto in A Minor”. It also analyses the piano playing methods and the control coordination relations between the piano and the band, etc.
