Revision Of The Interpersonal Scale (IPIP-IPC)

As one of the factors that affects human mental health, interpersonal relationship has been paid more and more attention to.IPIP-IPC is complied by M.Markey Patrick in 2009,as the measurement of interpersonal traits. This study adopted the method of stratified sampling, investigating a total of 1128 undergraduate students from Jiangsu Province, Nanjing, Yangzhou, Xuzhou, after three times translation and revision three times, finally interpersonal circumplex scale Chinese version. The results are as follows:1.The scale. The formal scale is divided into 8 dimensions(PA、BC、DE、FG、HI、JK、LM、 NO), each dimension has 4 projects,amounting to a total of 32 projects, the project uses 5 points to score, replacing the 2 items of the original scale.2.Reliability analysis.The Interpersonal circumplex scale internal consistency coefficients(Cronbach-a) of each dimension ranges from 0.621 to 0.796; After two weeks, the reliability coefficient of each dimension ranges from 0.725 to 0.860.3.Validity analysis.(1)Content validity:Markey and other research confirmed that the scale is an effective tool for measuring interpersonal relationships. The Chinese version of IPIP-IPC has good content validity, as well as the psychological professional experts.(2)Structure validity:①Multidimensional Scaling Analysis(MSD).eight dimensions are arranged in a two-dimensional plane space,forming into interpersonal circumplex (Stress0.056,RSQ 0.971); ②Correspondence Index. CI is 0.83, conforming to the number of sequential prediction of 91%; ③Confirmatory factor analysis(CFA).All indexes are above 0.9,showed that model can better fit to the data (GFI=0.919, IFI=0.960,TLI=0.917,CFI=0.953,).(3)Criterion validity: ①BC、DE、FG、HI and score of the interaction anxiety scale are significantly positive correlated,PA、JK、NO and score of the interaction anxiety scale are significantly negative correlated;②FG、HI and score of the shyness scale are positive significantly correlated,PA、LM、 NOand score of the shyness scale are significantly negative correlated;③DE、FG and score of the self-rating depression scale are positive significantly correlated,JK、LM、NOand score of the self-rating depression scale were significantly negative correlated;④BC、DE、FG、HI、JK、LM、 NO are significantly correlated with the different dimensions of the big five personality inventory. It shows that there is an important part of personality traits for interpersonal traits, and Agreeableness、Extraversion、Openness are more obvious.4.Gender norms, norms of urban and rural areas for college in Jiangsu are complied.
